   We are asking that anyone with information or having witnessed an event regarding the theft or damaging of our signs please contact us as the New York State Police are currently investigating this matter. 

After abiding town code by not posting our political signs until the legal amount of time before the election, the Wawayanda Democratic Committee began Saturday, October 13th, to put out our endorsed candidates' signs- only to have them ALL STOLEN within 24 hours from their various locations around town.  Further attempts at replacing them resulted in them being severely damaged within 24 hours of placement, as pictured above.  However, somehow, all of the Republican signs right next to them were not removed or damaged with them.  Some of the signs were on public rights of way while others were even on private property.  Over $4,000.00 worth of signs were stolen 2 years ago in this same manner leaving none of our signs left by election day yet the Republican signs were untouched that time as well.  These actions constitute felony theft, destruction of private property and trespassing and we are seeking that the individual(s) responsible is/are brought to justice. 

These actions are eerily reminiscent of the bullying tactics employed by other "unnamed" people against Mrs. Soro last year as well.  Do criminals like these that participate in and support this kind of illegal activity really deserve to run our town?  What are they so afraid of -  ETHICAL, open and fair government run, not by special interests, but by REAL representatives of the people of our town?  That appears to be the case.  While we may not match them in wallet size due to the massive contributions of their special interests, we find solace in our integrity and unwavering determination to create a better, safer and more efficient Wawayanda for the people of all generations to come, not just for developers.
