As many residents of our town now realize, our town is verging on a potential crisis due to the ignorantly devised policies and "closed door" politics of the current administration. I seek to bring back to this office the integrity, ethics and open government so sorely lacking in the current administration. Our town needs to keep our zoning laws inline in accordance with the wishes of the people. This has not been accomplished under the current administration because of their personal interests in the unregulated development of our town. Under my leadership, our taxes can and will be kept at the current levels or even lowered, with everything still getting done. We shall accomplish this by accumulating less of a cash surplus each year but yet enough so it is well within accordance of New York State guidelines and the advice of our town accountant, unlike the current administration's policies. They pride themselves on lowering taxes approximately $20 per year, but have severely crippled critical town services that provide for our safety and infrastructure in order to do so. Another major problem is that our current supervisor, along with three town board members, have vested interests in current and future land development which continues unabated. The current administration is also of the opinion that the town is in no need of an ethics committee. Obviously, they do not want anyone looking into their dealings or business arrangements, especially those which involve former and current campaign contributors. I vow once elected, things will change. Government will be open with public input on all critical issues. All meetings with developers or businesses or potential developers and businesses will be attended by a minimum of two representatives from the town and a recording secretary. An ethics committee will be formed with town residents, regardless of their political points of view and party affiliations. When even a hint of a conflict of interest arises, I will send it to you, the people, to vote on as a referendum on Election Day. However, in order to accomplish these goals, I need your support on Election Day. I need your help to tear down the shroud of secrecy constructed by the current administration. Your vote can and will make a difference, especially in this local election. Please exercise your most precious right as an American, the right to vote and help me save our town. Thank you for your support. Sincerely, Frank R. Critelli Candidate for Town of Wawayanda Supervisor
