Political Statement On the national level the present administration uses the judicial system to promote their moral and political agenda. It has also used it to silence or threaten those who disagree with this agenda. This “Republican Justice” has no place in our court system. This system is fueled by justices who take their marching orders and twist the law to fit them. While we can do little to stop it on a federal level, we can assure it does not trickle down to our state and local courts. I am running for Town Justice because our town needs an impartial, apolitical justice. Residents of our town or others coming before the bench need to know the justice seated before them is impartial. When elected I will immediately resign as Chairman of the Wawayanda Democratic Committee as well as the committee itself. This will be done to ensure no political pressure or agenda will enter into my decisions. My opponent has failed to do this. Since being appointed he remains a member of the Town Republican Committee attending meetings and very active in local politics. His predecessor left a legacy I plan to follow. The late Justice O’Connor remained active on the political scene for only three months prior to the election. He believed as I do that politics has no place on the bench. |
